EXCELLENT Based on 9 reviews Posted on Google Giles SmithTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I’m happy to report a great trip with kingdom of happiness tours. We arrange this trip independently using email and WhatsApp we picked Kingdom of happiness over many alternatives. We came to learn that guides are contracted and cars are rented so your trip really comes down to the professionalism/responsiveness/knowledge of the company organising and their choice of car and guides and the trust to ensure when you arrive everything will go perfectly and you can be flexible in planning. Our guide was wonderful and so was the driver. We took our young daughter and program was designed with her in mind. We all had a blast!Posted on Google jean hollaenderTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Absolutely incredible experience from start to finish. This trip to Bhutan exceeded all expectations. We had the chance to discover a truly unique culture, and everything was perfectly organized. The guides were outstanding — knowledgeable, kind, and deeply passionate about their country. They made the entire journey immersive and meaningful, allowing us to really connect with Bhutan’s traditions and way of life. The activities were also amazing: • Beautiful hikes with breathtaking landscapes • Fun and well-organized biking experiences • Kayaking in stunning natural settings Every day felt special and well-balanced between adventure, discovery, and cultural exploration. Bhutan is an extraordinary country, and this experience made it unforgettable. I highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for something authentic, enriching, and truly unique. 5 stars without hesitation.Posted on Google G LakshmishaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We travelled to Bhutan last year with Kingdom of Happiness Tours, and the agency did an amazing job from start to finish. They ensured our safety throughout the trip and customized the itinerary perfectly to suit our family’s needs. The owner, Mr. Chenco, is very understanding, kind, and attentive. We never faced any issues during our journey, and every recommendation and arrangement made for us was thoughtful and outstanding. The team truly went out of their way to show us the Bhutanese way of life, culture, and warm hospitality. As a family, we felt safe everywhere we went, and all our needs were always well looked after. I would happily recommend Kingdom of Happiness Tours to anyone planning a trip to Bhutan. We spent a week with the tour agency and were very satisfied. The guide and driver were very knowledgeable, polite, attentive, and caring. We highly recommend them to everyone. Igor and Maryna from UkrainePosted on Google Ellen HoTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We spent an incredible 9 days exploring this wonderful gem of a country from Haa Valley in the west all the way to Ura Valley in the east. Our trip was originally one week long, but we loved it so much we extended our stay! Chencho made it all happen - he provided the most prompt and detailed responses to all of our questions, and his pricing was the most ideal for our budget. He was extremely patient with us, made outstanding suggestions for our ambitious itinerary, and attentive to all the trip details that were important to us. We were ecstatic to have a wonderful knowledgeable female guide Tshering, and our driver Thinley was equally hard-working and absolutely amazing. Every day was filled with visits to magnificent temples, intriguing learnings about Bhutanese culture, exquisite architectural patterns, and trying new tasty foods which varied by region. We went on beautiful hikes in the valleys, witnessed a medley of wildlife along our roadtrip, and woke up almost every morning with breathtaking views. We stayed in a good variety of very memorable and fantastic homestays, guesthouses, and boutique hotels - all very safe and comfortable. The Bhutanese people are warm and welcoming, honest and respectable, creative and artistic… everywhere there is a peace and calm that relaxed our souls. Under their benevolent leader, the country has been intentionally developing in a way that allows for a beautiful coexistence with the natural world, something that is hard to find in this day and age. After having visited over 115 countries, this was easily a top 10 favorite for us. Bhutan is truly a special place, and we will definitely be back! We would undoubtedly use this same tour company again to design our next trip - we feel very lucky to have found Chencho and truly think he is the best. We spent five unforgettable days in Bhutan, and the country itself left a deep impression on us — we will definitely come back. Honestly, our only regret is that Bhutan was just one stop in a multi-country itinerary; five days was not nearly enough, and next time we will plan a longer trip dedicated to this magical place. We were especially lucky to have arranged our private tour with Kingdom of Happiness Tours. The guides and the whole team speak excellent English and have an impressive depth of knowledge of Bhutanese history and culture. We had deliberately planned a very intensive route for ourselves, with long daily drives across the country — that was our own choice — and the team organized it all in the best possible way, making every day as comfortable and rich as it could be. Even though we had pre-selected our hotels in advance, they kindly suggested better alternatives for some of the stays, and we were very grateful for those recommendations — they truly elevated the experience. If you want your trip to Bhutan to flow smoothly, with every little detail taken care of, I wholeheartedly recommend working with Kingdom of Happiness Tours. Yulia, Ukraine
More Than a Tour Operator.
We Are Your Bhutanese Family.
We are not a travel portal in Singapore. We are a Bhutanese-owned, Bhutan-based licensed Bhutan tour operator — founded in 2018 by locals who were born in the valleys they now guide you through. That difference defines every Bhutan trip we create.
01
You are not a tourist — you are our private guest
We do not call you a client or a booking number. When you travel with us, you become our personal guest, and we welcome you the way we would welcome someone into our own home. We are genuinely excited to show you the Bhutan we grew up in — not the version designed for mass tourism.
02
Your happiness is our only measure of success
We do not measure success by profit margins. At Kingdom of Happiness Tours, a satisfied guest is the foundation of everything — because a happy traveller becomes our most powerful ambassador. Growth, for us, follows genuine happiness, not the other way around.
03
Direct local expertise — no middlemen, no hidden costs
Unlike larger Bhutan tour operators that route bookings through international B2B platforms, you communicate directly with a local Bhutan travel expert from your very first message. No commissions passed along the chain. No inflated Bhutan tour costs. Transparent pricing, faster responses, and honest advice — every step of the way.
04
100% customised Bhutan private tours — built around you
No two travellers are the same, so no two itineraries should be either. Every customised Bhutan tour package we design is built from scratch around your interests, travel pace, and expectations — whether that is a 5-day Bhutan cultural tour, a Bhutan trekking adventure, a Bhutan luxury retreat, or a spiritual pilgrimage through ancient monasteries.
05
Itineraries that go beyond the expected
We honour the classics — the iconic monasteries, dzongs, and valleys that make Bhutan extraordinary. But we go further. From monastery stays, sacred cave explorations, Himalayan camping, yoga retreats, helicopter tours, and food discovery journeys to honeymoons, destination weddings, living village experiences, and our signature No Internet Retreat — we create Bhutan journeys that no one else offers.
06
End-to-End Support — From First Inquiry to Farewell
We provide complete Bhutan travel assistance for international guests, including visa processing, permits, transportation throughout your journey, accommodation, meals, customized tour itineraries, and all travel arrangements. With personalised support and a dedicated point of contact, we ensure a seamless and worry-free Bhutan travel experience from your first inquiry until the successful completion of your trip.

Planning a Bhutan tour in 2026? Here’s the most important number to understand first: the Bhutan Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) is currently USD $100 per person per night — down from USD $200. This reduced rate was introduced in 2023 to encourage post-pandemic tourism and runs until August 31, 2027, making 2026 one of the best windows to experience Bhutan at a historically accessible price.
$100
Bhutan SDF 2026 — Confirmed Rate
Per person, per night · All ages 12+ · Valid until 31 Aug 2027
The SDF and Visa Fees is separate from your tour package cost. Think of it as Bhutan’s sustainability contribution — the money directly funds free healthcare, free education, environmental protection, and cultural preservation across the kingdom. When you pay the SDF, you’re not paying for your tour. You’re investing in an entire nation.
Beyond the SDF and visa fees, your all-inclusive tour package covers your dedicated licensed Bhutanese guide, private SUV vehicle and professional driver, all meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffee and snack breaks), all accommodation, and all entry fees to museums, monasteries, and cultural sites. There are no vendor commissions, no pressure shopping, no tourist traps. Bhutan’s model, by design, delivers an experience that mass-market destinations simply cannot.
For Indian nationals, the SDF structure is different — approximately INR 1,200 per night.

Complete Bhutan Visa Guide & SDF Fee — 2026 Updated Information
Bhutan’s tourism system is one of the most unique in the world, built on a deliberate “high value, low impact” philosophy to protect its culture, environment, and way of life. While the visa process has evolved in recent years to become more accessible for international travellers, navigating it correctly — with the right documentation, SDF fee calculation, approved itinerary, and entry requirements — can be complex and easy to get wrong without local knowledge.
Working with a licensed Bhutan tour operator ensures your visa is processed accurately and on time, your SDF fees are correctly covered, your itinerary meets all government requirements, and you have a dedicated expert handling every detail before and during your trip. Any mistake in the application process can cause unnecessary delays or complications — something no traveller wants just before an exciting journey.
We handle your complete Bhutan visa process from start to finish, giving you full peace of mind so you can focus entirely on the experience ahead.
Bhutan’s tourism system is unique globally. Every international traveler must enter through a licensed Bhutan tour operator — there is no independent tourist visa. This isn’t a bureaucratic obstacle; it is Bhutan’s deliberate “high value, low impact” policy protecting its culture and environment. We handle your complete Bhutan visa for tourists process, start to finish.

What the Bhutan SDF Fee Funds
Bhutan offers more than travel — it offers transformation
Best Time to Visit Bhutan — Season-by-Season Guide & Festival Calendar
Bhutan is extraordinary in every season. The best time for Bhutan travel is widely considered spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November) — clear skies, dramatic festival celebrations, and the most breathtaking Himalayan views. But every season offers something unique.
🌸
Spring
Spring is Bhutan’s peak season — and for good reason. Rhododendrons explode across hillsides in crimson and pink. The skies are clear. The air is crisp. And the Paro Tshechu (March 29–April 2, 2026) draws travelers from around the world.
☁️
Monsoon
Bhutan turns intensely green during monsoon. Daily rains make some trekking trails difficult, but the countryside is lush and dramatic. Fewer tourists mean more authentic interactions. If you don’t mind rain — and budget prices — this is a hidden gem season.
🍂
Autumn
Autumn is Bhutan’s finest season for photography and high-altitude trekking. Crystal-clear skies reveal the Himalayas in all their glory. October is peak — golden forests, harvest atmosphere, and the Thimphu Tshechu (September 21–23). Book at least 3–6 months ahead.
❄️
Winter (Dec–Feb)
Winter is cold but strikingly beautiful. Snow-capped peaks gleam against impossibly blue skies. High passes may close, but valleys remain accessible and peaceful. Fewer tourists mean genuine connection with Bhutanese locals. The Black-necked Crane Festival (November 11) transitions beautifully into winter visits.
Local Insight from Our Guides: October is statistically our most-booked month — and for good reason. The combination of clear skies, harvest ambiance, and Himalayan visibility is unmatched. But don’t overlook March. The Paro Tshechu combined with rhododendron forests and comfortable temperatures makes spring just as magical, and slightly less crowded than peak October.

Bhutan Travel FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions About Bhutan Tourism & Travel
Real answers about Bhutan tour packages, visa, SDF, trekking, costs, and booking — written by Bhutanese locals who know this kingdom inside out.
The fundamental difference is local ownership and authenticity. We are Bhutanese — born, raised, and operating from Thimphu, Bhutan. Our guides are permanent Bhutanese employees, not freelance contractors. Every rupee we earn stays in Bhutan. Other operators like Druk Asia operate primarily from Singapore — meaning your money flows out of Bhutan. Additionally, we offer smaller, more intimate Bhutan trips, deeper cultural access through our local relationships, and a level of personalized care that international agencies structurally cannot provide.
