Bhutan Tour Packages — Explore the Himalayan Kingdom with Kingdom of Happiness
Bhutan, one of the world’s most extraordinary travel destinations, is known as the Land of the Thunder Dragon. Bhutan is a landlocked Himalayan kingdom that has deliberately chosen to measure national success by Gross National Happiness (GNH) rather than GDP. The result is a country unlike any other — one where ancient Buddhist traditions thrive, where over 72% of the land is covered in pristine forest, and where tourism is intentionally limited to preserve the very magic that makes it extraordinary.
Our Bhutan Tour Packages are over two decades in the making. Since 2005, our 100% Bhutanese team has crafted journeys for travelers from over 60 countries — always customized, always transparent, always personal. We don’t sell templates. We build your trip around you.
Whether you’re drawn to the sacred Paro Tshechu festival, the ancient monasteries of Bumthang, the high-altitude trails of the Snowman Trek, or simply the profound stillness of a Bhutanese morning — our packages are designed to connect you to the kingdom’s soul, not just its highlights.
What Makes Our Bhutan Tour Packages Different
1
Officially Licensed Bhutan Tour Operator
We hold TCB License #1072, issued by the Tourism Council of Bhutan. Every Bhutan tour operator you book through must hold this license — ours is original, verifiable, and active since 2005.
2
100% Customized Bhutan Tours
No two Bhutan itineraries we create are the same. Each package is built from scratch — around your dates, your interests, your budget, and your travel style. No templates. Ever.
3
Hassle-Free Bhutan Visa & Permits
We handle your complete Bhutan visa application, SDF payment processing, and all internal permits for restricted areas (including Haa Valley and Eastern Bhutan). You arrive ready to travel.
4
Transparent Bhutan Trip Cost
Our quotes include every cost — SDF, visa, accommodation, all meals, guide, vehicle, and entry fees — itemized clearly. No surprise charges. No add-ons at checkout. Guaranteed in writing.
5
Handpicked Destinations & Hidden Gems
Beyond Tiger's Nest and Thimphu, we know Bhutan deeply. Haa Valley, the Phobjikha wetlands, remote Bumthang, Eastern Bhutan's Trashigang — places most tours never reach, and which our guides call home.
6
Sustainable & Responsible Tourism
We are a sustainable tourism certified operator. All our packages adhere to Leave No Trace principles. We support local artisans, employ only Bhutanese staff, and contribute to community conservation programs.
Why Choose Bhutan Tour Packages with Us?
Why Choose Bhutan Tour Packages from Kingdom of Happiness?
When you book Bhutan travel packages through Kingdom of Happiness Tours, you are booking directly with a local Bhutanese operator — no middlemen, no international agents taking a cut of your experience.
01
Correct Local Guide Every Time
Our guides are not generalists — they’re specialists. Cultural tour? You get our cultural historian. Birding trip? Our ornithologist-guide. Snowman Trek? Our high-altitude certified team. We match expertise to experience.
02
Direct Communication, Always
You communicate directly with our Bhutanese team — not a call center, not a booking platform. When you message us, a Bhutanese planner responds within 24 hours with a real, personalized answer.
03
Complete High-Quality Documentation
You receive full written documentation before departure: confirmed hotel reservations, vehicle details, guide name and mobile number, daily itinerary, and emergency contact protocols. Everything your trip needs, organized in advance.
04
Flight to Paro Assistance
Bhutan is only accessible via Drukair or Bhutan Airlines. Only 5 gateway cities — Delhi, Kolkata, Kathmandu, Bangkok, and Singapore — have connecting flights. We guide every traveler through the best routing from their home country.
05
Genuine Flexibility & Kindness
Plans shift — and when they do, our team adapts. Free cancellation up to 30 days before departure. Mid-trip adjustments supported. Our guides carry the Bhutanese spirit of Zhabdro — the gracious act of welcoming a guest as if they were a king.
06
Hidden Gems, Not Just Highlights
Any operator can take you to Tiger’s Nest. Only a Bhutanese local can take you to a monastery accessible only with local connections, a farmer’s kitchen serving authentic ema datshi, or an unmarked trail leading to a valley that doesn’t appear on tourist maps.

Monsoon
June, July, August
Lush green landscapes and the fewest tourists. Some trekking routes close. Photography challenging. Best for budget-conscious travelers who want authentic local interactions without crowds.
Autumn
★★★★★
September, October, November
Clearest skies of the year. Thimphu Tshechu (Sep 21–23). Black-necked Crane Festival (Nov 11). October is the #1 most-booked month — book 6 months ahead. Best for photography and high treks.

Why Travel with the Kingdom of Happiness?
At Kingdom of Happiness Tours, we don’t just provide Bhutan access — we provide Bhutan understanding. Our guides grew up in this kingdom. They know which valley changes color first in autumn, which monastery serves the best butter tea, which pass gives the clearest view of Gangkhar Puensum — the world’s highest unclimbed peak at 7,570 m.
Planning a Bhutan tour requires navigating visa processes, SDF payments, TCB licensing requirements, limited airline schedules, festival timing, altitude considerations, and internal permit zones. We manage all of this seamlessly — so your experience of Bhutan is entirely about discovery, not logistics.
Whether you have 5 days or 30, a $2,000 budget or no upper limit, a passion for rare birds or a longing for spiritual peace — we build the precise Bhutan trip that serves what you actually need from this place.
🗓 Booking Timeline Guide
Festival tours (Paro / Thimphu Tshechu): Book 4–6 months ahead. Hotels near festival venues sell out completely.

Snowman Trek: Book September departure at least 4 months ahead. Only a small number of permits available.
Standard tours (non-festival): 4–8 weeks ahead is usually sufficient.

Bhutan Tour Package FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions About Bhutan Tour Packages
Everything people commonly ask before booking — answered honestly, by the Bhutanese team who will be guiding your trip.
Our Bhutan tour packages include your government-licensed guide, private vehicle and driver, all accommodation, all meals (3 daily), all monument entry fees, visa processing, all internal permits, and airport transfers. The only items not included are the SDF ($100/night), international flights, the visa fee ($40), and personal expenses.
A standard Bhutan tour package costs from $180/person/night for groups of 3+, to $245/night for solo travelers. Add the SDF of $100/night for international tourists. A typical 7-night Bhutan trip for 2 people costs approximately $3,440 all-in (excluding flights). Luxury tours start from $600/night.
For festival tours (Paro or Thimphu Tshechu), book at least 4–6 months ahead — hotels near festival venues sell out completely. For luxury lodges (Six Senses, Amankora), 6–12 months. For standard tours, 4–8 weeks is usually sufficient. We strongly recommend booking the moment your travel dates are confirmed.
The Bhutan Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) is a mandatory government charge of $100/person/night for all international tourists (valid until Aug 31, 2027). It is quoted separately from the tour package because it’s a government-set fee that goes directly to Bhutan’s health, education, and conservation programs. Children 6–11 pay $50/night. Under 5 are exempt.
Yes — all international visitors (except Indian, Bangladeshi, and Maldivian nationals, who use a permit system) require a Bhutan tourist visa. The fee is $40/person per trip (non-refundable). Visas cannot be obtained independently — they must be arranged through a TCB-licensed operator like us. We handle the entire process.
Bhutan’s Tourism Council (TCB) requires all international tourists to book through a TCB-licensed Bhutanese tour operator. This policy is how Bhutan maintains its “High Value, Low Volume” tourism model — ensuring that tourism contributes meaningfully to local communities rather than creating the overcrowding and cultural erosion seen elsewhere in the Himalayas. Your SDF payment funds this system directly.
Why Travel with the Kingdom of Happiness?
At Kingdom of Happiness, we don’t just provide Bhutan access — we provide Bhutan understanding. Our team was born here. This kingdom is our home. We share it with travelers who are ready to receive it.
